This privacy policy sets out and explains how Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy collects, stores and manages the information that you provide, which could be  via this website, email or in person is protected which in turn safeguards the privacy of its website visitors and the clients of Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal data. You have the right to request the information we hold, at any time and decide what we do with it.  

  • Personal information provided by you such as names, addresses and contact details.

  • Information from consenting veterinary surgeons which are required for Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy to provide canine myotherapy.  This data will only ever be used to support treatment and to ensure that I continue to comply with the Veterinary Surgery Act (1966).

  • Via cookies on the website.  Cookies are small files saved to the hard drive of the user’s device which collects visitor behaviour information as well as logs internet information and usage.  When you visit Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy’s website the above information may be automatically collected.  Cookies can be controlled by the visitor by disabling them or allowing them to run.  Consent for cookie use is asked for at the start of your visit to the website.  Further information regarding cookies can be found at allaboutcookies.org

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA:

Personal data submitted via this website or through direct communication will be processed for the purposes of providing canine myotherapy which might reasonably be expected as part of your dog’s treatment. We may, therefore, use your personal information to:

  • Send you general communication in relation to your dog's treatment as well as pre and post treatment advice.

  • Maintain treatment notes and clinical records on your dog’s treatment.

  • Manage your personal file including payments.

  • Provide a veterinary report after three initial treatments and every 3-6 treatments thereafter.

  • Send you treatment reminders by email or SMS.

  • Email you with any special offers that may be running or products we think may be beneficial to you and your dog.

  • We will never provide your information to any third parties unless required to by law.

  • Be able to demonstrate to professional bodies (Galen Myotherapy Centre, IAAT and IRVAP) that we handle your and your dog’s information in a profession and appropriate manner in line with specific membership requirements.

 

When our newsletter sign-up becomes available, you will be able to sign up via the website.  This will allow you to be informed of general news, workshops and events.  Newsletter sign ups will need to be opted-in via the website.   If you choose to sign up, your details will be held electronically by third party service provider for mailshot distribution such as MailChimp but communication will be from Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy.  Future marketing communication and information regarding other beneficial services and products will come from Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy again via third party service provider. You will have the opportunity to opt out of communication.  

 

HOW WE STORE YOUR DATA, DATA SECURITY & DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS:

The European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which was brought in 2018 ensures that you have more control over your personal data, how it is used and it is stored.  To this end Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy stores data securely on password enable devices as well as a secure storage cloud.

All personal data that we require for canine myotherapy will not be kept for longer than necessary and no more than 87 years upon cessation of canine myotherapy treatment.  To that end if you require your information is deleted prior to the 7 year time period please request this in writing to Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy.  

At your dog’s initial consultation I will discuss with you the information that is collected and any implications of this with you in person.  At this point you can raise any concerns you may have.  

I will ask you to sign a consent form and dog information form to allow for canine myotherapy to be practiced to this will also request consent for the use of images for further analysis and continued professional development.

The following records are kept:

  • Clinical records regarding issues, treatment and future treatment plans, and 

  • Client personal and financial information.

What are your Data Protections Rights:

Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy outlines below your Data Protection Rights so that you are fully aware of your rights and ensures that every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to be informed:

You have the right to be informed about how Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy will collect and use your personal data.

  • The right to access:

You have the right to request Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy for copies of your personal data and any other supplementary information.  We may charge you a small fee for this service.

  • The right to rectification:

You have the right to request that Puddlehill Pawsitive Therapy correct any information you believe to be inaccurate this request can be made verbally or in writing.
